Growers Benefit from Wheat Industry Reform

Key amendments include the establishment of an independent Wheat Industry Taskforce to assist in the development of a mandatory code of conduct to oversee the operation of the Australian wheat industry and address issues within the supply chain such as:

1. Fair, equitable and least cost access to ports for all grain traders;

2. Disclosure of wheat stocks information to all industry participants;

3. Export cargo integrity and maintained reputation of Australian wheat exports.

The State Farming Organisations of Queensland (Agforce), New South Wales (NSW Farmers Federation), South Australia (Grain Producers SA), Victoria (Victorian Farmers Federation Grains Group), Western Australia (WA Grains Group) also played a vital role in the negotiations of the amended Wheat Bill.
